PMT 306 MANAGEMENT OF PROJECT MATERIALS (3Units)

Management of materials for projects located in different climatic zones. Influence of climatic factors (rainfall, humidity, temperature, wind).Materials purchase management; Organization of materials purchasing department; Purchase procedures and records; Purchase price. Materials control; ABC analysis; determination of stock levels re-order quantity. Stores organizations; Types of organization, centralized stores, imprest stores and decentralized stores; stores location and layout; classification and coding of materials. Stores routine records; materials requisition control; receipts and issue of material, stores materials control records. Perpetual inventory control system. Method of valuing materials issue; materials ledger; methods of pricing materials issue; treatment of loss of materials in stores.

PMT 307 OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT I (2 Units)

Modern Production Environment: Classification of productions system; Job product flow production, Product structure and Bill of materials; Demand forecasting; Aggregate; Planning; Master scheduling for High Volume Production. Location of factory, layout of factory, plant survey, work study; method study.

The Need for Strategic Planning for Project Management. Impact of Economic Conditions of Project Management. Principles of Strategic Planning. An Introduction to the Project Management Maturity Models (PMMM) like Common Language, Common Processes, Singular Methodology, Benchmarking, Continuous Improvement and Sustainable Competitive Advantage. Special Problems with Strategic Planning for Project Management.

PMT 309 INDUSTRIAL LOCATION (2 Units)

Mechanics of time-value calculations and comparison of alternatives based on their equivalent annual worth present worth and rate of return. Evaluations to determine preferred investment alternatives or replacement policy; financial considerations for private investments and benefit cost analysis for government projects. The economics of production: cost estimation and forecasting; time-cost trade-off; evaluation of operations involving people, materials and machines, productivity measurements.

PMT 310 ECONOMIC PRICING OF PUBLIC UTILITIES (2 Units)
