This course is the second course in calculus, designed primarily for students in mathematics, pure and applied sciences. However, it also meets the need of students in other fields. The course’s focus is to impart useful skills on the students in order to enhance their knowledge in methods of solving mathematical problems and prepare them for other specialised applications to be encountered at higher levels. Topics to be covered include real-valued function of a real variable, review of differentiation and integration and their applications, mean value theorem, Taylor series, real-value functions of two or three variable, partial derivatives, chain rule, extrema, Lagrange’s multiplier, increment, differentials and linear approximations, evaluation of linear integral.

This course is an exploratory, school course in Micro economics that is designed primarily for students to manage and generate new ideas pertaining to business firms or organisations. However, it also meets the need of students in the other fields, as a course that provides student with the basic understanding of business organisations. As a theoretical course, the focus is to impart useful skills on the students in order to enhance their research methodology skills, innovations and its importance to technological development. Topic to covered includes; Nature of Paradigms in the social science, abstract models and social economic change. The nature and method of economic system, Supply, demand and elasticity. The cost of production. Price and output determination under pure competition-monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly. Demand for economic resources; wages, rent, interest and profit determination.

This course is an introductory course meant to acquaint students with science background with basic commercial accounting methods, to afford its understanding and adaptation to personal and business activities.

However, it also meets the need of students in the field of management, as a course that provides student with the basic understanding of national economy, overall aggregate and factors that affects a country national income. As a theoretical course, the focus is to impart useful skills on the students in order to enhance their management of limited economic resources and application at national levels. Topics to be covered include National income accounting, the business cycle, unemployment and inflation, the banking system, the supply and demand for money, changes in equilibrium level of net national product and multiplier.

This course is an introduction to the nature, scope and application of psychology in the workplace. However, it also meets the need of students in other fields, as a course that provides hands-on training in the application of psychology to the workplace to enhance job satisfaction and productivity. The focus of the course is to impart useful skills on the students to understand individual differences and still be able to integrate perfectly to achieve individual aspirations and organisational effectiveness. Topics to be covered include psychology of human development and personality; social psychology; working in groups; group dynamics and effectiveness; work integration; social skills in supervision and management; community and national behaviour; psychology and socio-technical systems and selection and training procedure.
