Course Synopsis

This course is the practical aspect of entrepreneurship. It came into being in 2011/2012 academic session following a directive from the Federal Government of Nigeria that Nigerian Universities must incorporate entrepreneurship into the University curriculum. The focus of the course is to impart useful and practical skills on the students that will enable them become job creators and not job seekers. It will empower the students to reduce the levels of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. The students are assigned to tested trainers or artisans to learn the rudiments of entrepreneurship training. As much as possible, students are encouraged to choose trades that are similar to their course of study but they are still allowed their choice. Students will go for the practical on Friday 2p.m. to 5p.m. and on Saturday from 9a.m.to 4p.m. weekly for 15 weeks.
